Oasis is part of the Elim Pentecostal Movement, which began in Monaghan in 1915. This movement is part of the greater Charismatic/ Pentecostal stream of the Christian Church which, with over 600 million adherents worldwide, it is the fastest growing section of Christianity today.
The term ‘Elim’ is taken from the book of Exodus (in the Old Testament) where we read that the people of Israel “came to Elim where there were twelve wells of water and seventy palm trees, so they camped there by the waters.” (Exodus 15:17)
This oasis in the wilderness proved to be a place of refreshment and blessing to those who camped there. This picture symbolises what Elim Ministries is seeking to be in what can so often be described as ‘the wilderness’ of this world.
Oasis Christian Fellowship is based in Roscrea Town and our desire is to be a benefit and a blessing to our local community by representing the grace and truth of Jesus Christ in a meaningful and relevant way.
